Shelby Flowers is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#8703) registered in the state of Louisiana providing counseling and therapeutic services to individuals of all ages. Shelby received her Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance, Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Graduate Certificate in Dynamics of Domestic and Family Violence, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University.
Shelby finds that the most important and beneficial aspect of change and growth is the counseling relationship between the client and therapist. In having a nonjudgmental mindset and a willingness to challenge the monotony of what isn’t working, trust and understanding are built which stoke the flames of reaching goals that once felt unattainable for the client.
Shelby enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, especially pertaining to issues with: depression, anxiety, life transitions and adjustments, self-esteem, grief and loss, career based concerns, family and other relationships, parental skills, and self-acceptance in marginalized communities such as LGBTQIA+.
Shelby looks forward to being able to help clients be their best selves and to help discover things about how to navigate the ebbs and flows of life at all stages. In her free time, Shelby enjoys craft beer, video games, puzzles, listening to podcasts, reading true crime, self help, and nonfiction books, and spending time with her family.
