Sonya Spillers is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#1257) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (#5991) registered in the state of Louisiana providing counseling and therapeutic services to individuals of all ages, couples, and families. Sonya received her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Sonya has worked in the Monroe-West Monroe and surrounding areas providing therapy for families facing various health and mental health diagnosis, life transitions, and school difficulties. She has experience working with children and teens diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, ADD, anxiety, those placed on the Autism spectrum, disturbed thinking, and bullying. She has worked with families experiencing life transitions such as divorce, death, blending families, and abusive situations. Sonya has worked as part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide the most beneficial treatment for the families served.

Sonya has a passion for working with children, couples, and families. She enjoys creating connections with her clients and believes this connection is the foundation for change by creating a positive working relationship that promotes trust and the environment for healing. Sonya works towards helping her clients understand and recognize their own strengths and abilities thus allowing them to take control of their lives. Sonya believes that understanding and awareness allows others to make choices that are the most beneficial for their lives and family’s.
