Dr. Sabrina Wegner is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana. She is a native of Midland, Texas, and obtained both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Abilene, Texas at McMurry University and Abilene Christian University respectively. She then relocated to Monroe, Louisiana and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She says that, because she grew up in the desert, the biggest adjustment has been the change of scenery with trees and bayous and more rain than she ever imagined was possible.

Sabrina knew counseling would be her specialty from a young age. Growing up, she recognized that everyone just needs someone to listen to them, and she hoped she could be the one who was there to listen one day. Now, she enjoys assisting every individual, couple, and family that enters her office in finding solutions that work for them. She recognizes that every person’s experience is unique and believes, working together, counselor and client can discover solutions that fit the client’s unique needs, experiences, and perspective. Therefore, Sabrina is flexible and always open to feedback from clients about the therapeutic relationship and process. Sabrina has experience working with people of all ages on a wide array of issues, including addiction, grief, depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

In her free time, Sabrina enjoys spending time with friends, volunteer work, and traveling. She hopes that in the near future she will venture to Africa, so that she can claim her sixth continent. Sabrina also enjoys learning and intends to keep learning for the rest of her life, gaining any and all skills that will be helpful in life. One thing she appreciates about her career is that she never stops learning from her clients.
